History

Oldham Eagles In-Line Roller Hockey Club was started by five parents (Diane Green, Pauline Jackson, Robert Lightburn, Paul Turner and Ken Jones) and we have been established since May 2006.

The Club was named 'Oldham Eagles' by the players with one of the them designing the first team shirt.

We are always welcoming new players and members (male or female) to the Club and have age 9 upwards, with various levels of skill, from novice to national standard playing.

The Club also have 3, level one coaches which are all CRB accredited along with all our volunteers. We applied and was rewarded a grant from the Manchester local community foundation fund and thanks to this we are able to provide training and playing equipment to help new players get started.

In the Clubs 1st season we started out by putting two teams, under 14s and U16s, into the BIPHA (British Inline Puck Hockey Association) North West league. In our 2nd season we had 3 teams U14, U16 and U18s in the league and also had an U12s development team that competed in monthly tournaments. The 3rd season sore the Club introduce a senior team into the GBHI (GB Hockey Inline) Flintshire league.

With hard work and dedication from the players,  coaching staff and volunteers. The Club has players now representing the BIPHA North West Super League teams. and a net minder chosen to play for the Sheffield women's team to represent the North of England.

Our 3rd season (08/09) has finished and the Club has shown it is growing from strength to strength, with the Under 14s picking up its, and the clubs first trophy. Finishing 3rd in there league, thanks to some outstanding play throughout the season. It also has more parents and people willing to volunteer to help with running the teams.
